The Association of Manitoba Museums holds a conference every year in the fall.
These conferences are designed to be an opportunity for our members to share, learn and get together with their counterparts from around the province.
The conference site changes every year, alternating between urban and rural locations.
During breaks between conference sessions, delegates are invited to take part in a trade show. Sometimes those who take part also offer hands on demonstrations or discounts on their products.
The Banquet and Auction
The banquet is always a welcome way to end a day of learning and listening. The AMM always tries to come up with a varied menu to tempt the taste buds. There are times when entertainment is brought into the mix. It’s another way of treating our delegates to a wonderful evening while showcasing local talent.
Following the banquet is our live auction, a fundraiser that raises eyebrows as members try to outbid each other for some of the items on the block.
This is an important, fun, and highly anticipated fundraiser. Contributions from members, friends and businesses are welcome.
Annual General Meeting (AGM)
The AGM is held on the last day of the conference. Board elections are held at this time.
The AGM is open to every member and attendance is free.
If you are not a conference delegate there would be a fee if you wished to join them for a meal (breakfast or lunch) before or during the AGM. Advance registration, for the meal, would be required.
This year's conference will be in Steinbach, MB
