About the Museum:

Established in 1967, the Pioneer Village Museum recreates a small pioneer village. Housed within the grounds is a original log house, CPR railway station, Struss Family barbershop, blacksmith shop, Sebright school, Brightstone community hall and Kososki's store just to name a few. Most of the pioneers of this region were Polish, Ukrainian, or German descent coming from the areas known as Galicia and Volhynia. These pioneers had to face many hardships in carving out the wilderness and learning to adapt to a new way of life. Many artifacts depicting the lifestyle of the early pioneers of the surrounding area are located in these buildings. The village is also the home of Edward Schreyer, the 22nd Governor General of Canada, boyhood home. Come explore the culture, history and artifacts of the Brokenhead and Beausejour district. Over 3000 artifacts depicting the lifestyles of the past.
