Transit History and Preservation
The MTHA was established on July 21, 1989 by a group of dedicated Winnipeg Transit employees and retirees interested in collecting and preserving records, memorabilia and vehicles related to the City of Winnipeg's public transit service.

A Trip Down Memory Lane
The MTHA has the largest collection of authentic antique transit vehicles in the province of Manitoba. We educate the public about the past, present and future of public transport in Winnipeg, Brandon, and other Manitoba communities, and celebrates our industry and community heritage.

Winnipeg's Transit Museum in Motion
the operating vintage classic bus fleet is one of the MTHA's most prized collections, offering a physical, moving record of nearly 100 years of public bus transportation in Winnipeg and Manitoba.

During the summer our volunteers proudly drive to and display this unique collection of authentic heritage buses at various community festivals, special events, schools and senior centres, committed to educating the public about Transit's rich and colourful history.
