IDEAS - Museum Success Stories

The 25th Anniversary of the Association of Manitoba Museums provided an opportunity to look back on our growth as an association. In celebrating this event, we also wanted to reflect on the successes of our member institutions throughout the province, and so the idea for this book was born.

We often think of museums in terms of the rich heritage legacy housed within their walls. However, we should also count among their assets, the talented and dedicated staff and volunteers who bring this heritage alive for their visitors. This book is testament to their innovation and desire for excellence, often in the face of limited resources. They have truly learned to do more with less, and to turn a simple idea into a success story.

Many of the ideas in this book translate well into fundraising plans for other types of community groups.

The Association of Manitoba Museums acknowledges that we are on Treaty 1 territory and the land on which we gather is the traditional territory of Anishinaabe, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene Peoples, and the homeland of the Métis Nation.
