1916 circa Liberty Fire Extinguisher metal tube fire extinguisher tube
This is a 1916 Liberty Fire Extinguisher from the Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company (WMIC). The Company started in the Wawansa community in 1896. The extinguisher was hung by its cap from a sturdy hook. To use it you would pull down sharply on the metal tube and it would release from its cap.
These extinguishers were filled by WMIC employees with ingredients from a secret formula kept in a WMIC vault.
