About the Museum:

The Manitoba Indigenous Cultural Education Centre (MICEC) has been providing programs and services since 1975 and is centrally located in Winnipeg's historic North Point Douglas neighbourhood. MICEC promotes awareness and understanding of Indigenous cultures to all interested people and was founded by the Winnipeg Indian Council in conjunction with the Manitoba Indian Brotherhood.

MICEC is the largest cultural education centre in Manitoba. We are home to The People's Library, the largest publicly accessible collection of Indigenous resources in Manitoba with over 14,000 books, videos and audio recordings and The Heritage Collection consisting of over 1,000 pieces of clothing, artwork, sculptures, carvings and archaeological artifacts. in 2009, MICEC underwent a $2M, award-winning renovation to bring the collection to the forefront.
