About the Museum:

Midwinter Heritage Site is a century old one room School House Museum. The School has been used as a dance hall, a church, a drop-in-centre and a library over the years. The Museum reflects all of that. We also have exhibits on pioneer life in the area. Men were wood-cutters, families had farms and East Braintree once had a provincial prison. We also have exhibits regarding the GWWD aqueduct, the Red Cross Nursing Station, prospecting in the area, and fashion from 1917 to 1968.

Log house on site and teacherage coming soon! Tours to all 3 buildings each Saturday from Spring to Fall.

There are currently 3 heritage buildings on site, with 1 more to come soon. Exhibits change each year.

Museum Events:

Canada Day Event

Spring and Fall Fundraisers

Pioneer Day - 2nd Sunday in September (annual)
