About the Museum:

Transcona Museum is dedicated to preserving and promoting the community heritage of Transcona and the surrounding Springfield district through our collections, exhibitions, and programs.  Our yearly rotating displays feature the history of the community, railroad industry, settler life, Native cultures and the natural history of the area.  The museum is located in the a historic building that originally served as the Bank of Toronto and later the Transcona Municple Office.

The museum's largest artifact CN 2747, the first steam engine built in Western Canada at the Transcona Shops is on display in Rotary Heritage Park on Plessis Road, north of Kildare Avenue.

Trivia Night CN 2747 Fundraiser!
The Transcona Museum is holding a Trivia Night fundraiser for our SAVE CN 2747 project.  Put a team together or come on your own to a fun night of trivia, mini-games, rainbow auction and more.  All proceeds from our event are going to our SAVE CN 2747 project. The event will be held at the Transcona Legion. Doors open at 7:00 pm, with the trivia starting at 7:30 pm. You can purchase individual tickets (from select table) for $25 or purchase an entire reserved table with 8 people for $180. Your ticket includes reserved seating, social food and a whole lot of trivia fun! Tickets are available through our website, at the TixiT Ticket Company office at 119A Regent Avenue West or by phone at 204-219-9444

Offsite Exhibition
From November 5th-11th, 2019 the Transcona Museum will be presenitng our award winning exhibition "Remember and Reflect: War Efforts of Transcona" in centre court at Kildonan Place Shopping Centre located at 1555 Regent Avenue West. Opening Ceremony will take place on Tuesday, November 5th at 12:00pm.  Please join us in Remembrance.  

Small Talk: War Efforts of Transcona
During Remembrance Week, we will be offering a small talk on Transcona’s war efforts both on the homefront and overseas during the First and Second World Wars. This small talk will be taking place at Kildonan Place Mall (1555 Regent Avenue West) in Center Court at our display on Thursday, November 7th from 7 – 8:30 pm.  Participants should meet at our table exhibition in the mall. 


Book Reading “Memories of the Moonlight” Special
You are invited to a reading and a visual presentation of the book “Memories of the Moonlight Special and Grand Beach Train Era” by author Barbara Lange. The reading will be held on Saturday, November 16th from 1:30 – 3:30pm at the Transcona Museum. Books will also be available for purchase at the event.

Book Reading “Haunted Manitoba”
Join author Matthew Komus as he reads from his newest book “Haunted Manitoba” accompanied with a visual presentation. This event will be held on Thursday, November 21st from 6 – 8 pm at the Transcona Museum. Matthew is also searching for haunted Transcona or Transcona ghost stories, so please attend so you can share your stories.  Books will be available for purchase.
