About the Museum:

The Hamiota Pioneer Club Museum focuses on showing life in the Hamiota District and how its evolved over time. The museum features a railway station, which includes the station agent's living quarters furnished for the 1910-1925 time period. Oakner United Church, which is a small country style church built in 1909, became part of the museum in 2000. A third building houses our general collection organized around such themes as: farming, medicine, organizations, education, household items, entertainment, sports, and religion.

Museum Events:

Hamiota Fair Day!

The Annual Hamiota Fair, which is held the third Thursday in July, is a special time at the museum. Each year a new display is added, often by partnering with Hamiota and District Archives. Videos of community and local historcal events are played throughout the day. Contests and guided tours are also part of the day. During the afternoon local musicians take part in a music or "Jam" session  in the Church.
