About the Museum:

Originally established in 1983, the Birdtail Country Museum consists of two buildings. The main building is a former Union Bank and a municipally designated historic building. The upper level is fully furnished to resemble the manager's residence from the early 1900's. On the main floor you will find a variety of displays of local history. The museum house over 5000 artifacts including military, archaeological and Indigenous artifacts. There are new feature displays each year. The Museum also has a collection of old photographs, letters and memoirs as well as a microfilm reader to view tapes of the Birtle Eye Witness newspaper from 1884-1998.

The second building houses the museum office and a variety of books and documents on local history.
