Other Peoples’ Heritage:
A Cross-Cultural Approach to Museum Interpretation

This is a practical handbook on a more appropriate use of terminology and images in the identification, interpretation, and display of traditional Aboriginal material culture.

The book is an invaluable tool for curators and operators of museums, interpretive centres, and heritage organizations on the use of wording and images in the development of label copy, support literature (pamphlets, brochures) and images relating to Manitoba Aboriginal heritage and cultural history.

The book encourages the use of culturally sensitive terminology while discouraging the use of stereotypical terms and phrases.
