About the Museum:
The Charlebois Chapel was built in 1897 by Father Ovide Charlebois. It has been designated as an historical site. Its displays depict the history of the Archdiocese, Bishop Charlebois, and the church itself.
The collection includes: collage of photos of the bishop at different times in his life, oral and written histories about Bishop Charlebois, display of 6 panels with pictures from the Archdiocese. The missions portrayed are Ile-à-la-Crosse, Canoe Lake, Buffalo Narrows, and La Loche. French and English testimonies from elders who knew Bishop Charlesbois, photo albums, pictures that show the restoration process of the little chapel originally built in 1897 along with some historical facts about the Archdiocese. There are also photos and history of the Indian Residential schools that were part of Keewatin, The Pas.
The museum is wheelchair accessible.
