About the Museum:
The Hamiota Pioneer Club Museum focuses on showing life in the Hamiota District and how it has evolved over time. The main building features a variety of themes:education, business, orgnaizations, agriculture, sports, entertainment, music, household artifacts, and a taxidermy display featuring prairie birds. The museum also features a railway station, a period house from c1910-1925, and Oakner United Church, which is a small country style church built in 1909.
Museum Events:
The Annual Hamiota Fair, which is held the third Thursday in July, is a special time at the museum. Each year a new display is added, often by partnering with Hamiota and District Archives. Videos of community and local historcal events are played throughout the day. Contests and guided tours are also part of the day. During the afternoon local musicians take part in a music or "Jam" session in the Church.
